Did you know?
If it were harnessed properly, enough sunlight falls on the earth in one hour to meet world energy needs for a whole day.
One of the early decisions for a property owner considering solar is whether to include a battery backup.
Without a battery, the solar system will produce full power under full sun, partial power under clouds or snow, and no power at night. This type of system can offset the electrical loads of the house when power is being produced, and in some cases the system may also “run the meter backwards” by feeding excess power back to the grid for additional credit on the electric bill.
However, a system without a battery will not produce useful power to the home in the event of a grid power outage, because the day-to-day (and sometimes, moment-to-moment) intermittency of the sunshine cannot provide the constant power required by today’s electronics. For backup power, a battery is required.
Solar Fort Wayne offers a full range of battery backup systems, from low-cost lead-cell batteries to modern lithium-ion technologies. For customers interested in maximum off-grid resilience, our solar systems can also integrate seamlessly with generator power to ensure that your lights stay on no matter what comes.
We will work with you to design a solar-powered backup power system for your home or business that meets your needs without breaking your budget.
